Aptos Chamber of Commerce LSCC Office Disaster Plan Project
Santa Cruz County offices are vulnerable to earthquakes, mudslides, and floods.
The Aptos Chamber of Commerce, the hub of Aptos business life, is committed to developing a disaster plan for their office to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster.
This Leadership Santa Cruz County (LSCC) Office Disaster Plan project will produce an office disaster response plan and supporting preparation, response, and restoration of service document templates that any office can use to make their own plan, for free.
Goals
This Office Disaster Plan project will develop a prepared office staff and a sample disaster plan that can be used by other offices, potentially saving lives and livelihoods. The goals of the Office Disaster Plan project are:
• Enhanced office teamwork and comradery by training together
• Increased survival probability and well being of staff
• Quick efficient recovery from disaster for the Aptos Chamber Office
• Quick restoration of services from disaster for any office, when possible
• Communication link with Aptos La Selva Fire District, Santa Cruz County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, and Santa Cruz County Office of Emergency Services
• Develop sample documents as defined below.
• Develop office disaster plan
• Conduct tabletop response drill and update plan
• Plan delivered by 5/07 in online and printed format
